What makes Rohit Sharma present? India’s Test captain is a worse player than Virat Kohli: Badrinath’s shocking revelation

In a Test match in South Africa, Rohit Sharma’s debut as captain of India did not go as planned. In the Centurion Test match, Kagiso Rabada dismissed the right-hander in both of the innings. He scores many of boundaries in white-ball cricket, but in the first innings, he lost control of the pull and was holed out for a fine leg. Rabada pitched around off stump in the second over, opening him up fully with a ball that kept its line. Nor did Rohit’s leadership measure up to par. He did not rotate his strike bowlers adequately while Prasidh Krishna and Shardul Thakur were going for runs, which enabled South Africa to escape with a high first-innings total.

The worst part is that India has now lost four straight Tests against SENA nations. Subramaniam Badrinath, a former cricketer for India, had harsh criticisms of Rohit’s batting and leadership. The former right-hander said that the team’s red-ball skipper should be Virat Kohli, who has a stronger track record as a batsman in Test cricket.

Kohli’s track record as a test skipper is excellent. As a captain, he has amassed over 5000 runs at an average of 52. In 68 tests, he has 40 victories and 17 defeats. We won the Australia series handily thanks to his leadership. Subramaniam Badrinath said on his YouTube channel, “After Graeme Smith, Ricky Ponting, and Steve Waugh, he has the most victories as Test captain.”

In 68 Test matches, Virat has led India to 40 victories, 17 losses, and 11 draws. As a captain, he has a victory percentage of nearly 58%. As captain, he also guided India to a series victory in Australia and other historic victories in Tests and series in England, South Africa, the West Indies, and Sri Lanka.

In 111 innings, Virat amassed 5,608 runs at an average of 53.40 while captaining the Test team. His highest score was 254*. He also amassed 18 hundred and 18 fifties. India was the top Test team for many years running under his direction.

“Why does Virat not lead the Test squad as captain? I would want to ask this important question. He does well on tests. Between Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, there is no comparison. In terms of Test cricket, he is a major participant. He’s scored runs all over the place. Why is he a worse player and not in the lead? In my opinion, a less skilled player who hasn’t established themselves as an opener. He has come and gone. We can take all that into account. But in my opinion, Rohit Sharma hasn’t shown that he can start games outside of India. “What makes him there?” Badrinath continued.

With 10, hundreds, and sixteen fifties in 90 innings, Rohit has amassed 3,682 runs at an average of 45.45 in 53 Tests, showcasing his impressive record.

However, he has a poor track record in SENA countries (South Africa, England, New Zealand, and South Africa), where India has traditionally been weak. Rohit has amassed 1,182 runs at an average of 30.30 in 21 Test matches between these nations, including a century and six fifty-score innings in 42 innings.
