On the third day of the Test, the home team led by 126 runs going into their second innings thanks to a brilliant four wicket haul from Mohammed Siraj, who helped them bundle out England for 319 runs.

On Saturday, the English team lost eight wickets, starting with Joe Root, who was dismissed by famous Indian bowler Jasprit Bumrah and sent back to the pavilion. Soon after, spinner Kuldeep Yadav sent the Englishman back for a duck, trapping him just in front of the wickets. Jonny Bairstow followed his partner to the dugout.

After contributing 153 runs, Ben Duckett was the next to fall victim to Yadav, and England captain Ben Stokes was removed by local hero Ravindra Jadeja.

Siraj came back to the crease and easily removed Ben Foakes, Rehan Ahmed, and James Anderson, cleaning up the English tail, while Jadeja also cheaply removed Tom Hartley.

In an attempt to match their first innings total, India’s captain Rohit Sharma and captain Amit Jaiswal started the innings. However, Root removed the captain for 19 runs, and Jaiswal and Shubman Gill steadied the Indian batting after that.
